Film director Ken Loach and journalist John Pilger each offered to put up £20,000 and stand as surety for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Mr. Loach told the Guardian that he did not know Mr. Assange, but added: “I think the work he has done has been a public service, I think we are entitled to know the dealings of those that govern us.”
